Touchstone Foundation for the Arts (TFA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enriching community life through the visual arts. TFA has worked with Touchstone Gallery for more than 13 years. Among its creative activities, TFA has partnered with non-profit organizations such as Miriam’s Kitchen and New Community ArtSpace to provide space and support for art exhibitions.
A founding project is the TFA Emerging Artist Fellowship, which provides emerging artists mentoring, support, and exhibition opportunities at Touchstone Gallery. Current fellows are Brianne Anderson and Neville Barbour.
The Foundation recently sponsored solo shows by Sanah Brown-Bowers (January 2024), Teresa Oaxaca (March 2024) and Ashley Jaye Willams (July 2024), based on an open call for exhibition proposals from DC-area artists, juried by Allison Nance and Tim Wright. Additionally, TFA sponsored an exhibition of Congolese artists, Bringing Congo to the Heart of America: Unearthing Congo’s True Colors, in August 2024.
Upcoming projects include a socially engaged community night for DC’s Art All Night, plus solo exhibitions by the 2023-2024 Fellows (December 2024).
Need for Donations: As a non-profit organization, TFA relies on donations to support its activities. We hope that you will generously support our programs.
