Touchstone Foundation for the Arts (TFA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enriching community life through the visual arts. TFA has worked with Touchstone Gallery for more than 14 years. Among its creative activities, TFA has partnered with organizations such as the Embassy of the Congo, Art All Night, Miriam’s Kitchen and New Community ArtSpace to provide space and support for art exhibitions.
A keystone project is the TFA Emerging Artist Fellowship, which provides emerging artists mentoring, support, and exhibition opportunities at Touchstone Gallery. 2023-24 Fellows Brianne Anderson and Neville Barbour have their culminating solo exhibitions opening at Touchstone Gallery on December 3, 2024. Three new Fellows join for 2025-26: Jazz Williams, Brittany Mona’, and Jonathan Fuentes.
The Foundation sponsored three solo shows in 2024 Sanah Brown-Bowers (Dec 2023/January 2024), Teresa Oaxaca (March 2024) and Ashley Jaye Williams (July 2024), based on an open call for exhibition proposals from DC-area artists, juried by Allison Nance and Tim Wright. Additionally, TFA sponsored an exhibition of Congolese artists, Bringing Congo to the Heart of America: Unearthing Congo’s True Colors, in August 2024.
The TFA also participated in a socially engaged community night for DC’s Art All Night, featuring artist Daryle Locko, with art and craft activities led by our Bloomberg Arts Interns.
We’re excited to continue with a robust programming calendar for 2025, starting with the coordination of a series of performance events in conjunction with The District 51 Art Show.
As a non-profit organization, TFA relies on donations to support our programs and activities. Thank you for your generous support!
